Director of Clinical Informatics

Position Summary: 

NACHC is seeking a Director of Clinical Informatics who will capitalize on data insights, drive innovation, and collaborate with cross-functional (internal/external) partners to deliver critical healthcare and business impacts. As part of a nimble analytics-based strategy team, you will initiate, plan, and design highly visible, national projects with key stakeholders and lead proof-of-concept and other implementation efforts that involve health information technology, data, and clinical decision support.

  • Collaborate with clinical leaders, improve care processes by understanding the current processes and workflows
  • Lead design, development, and implementation of informatics projects in the Clinical Affairs Division

Responsibilities

  • Directs and participates in national projects associated with the development, implementation, and optimization of clinical information tools and processes for the nation’s safety net (primary care associations, health center-controlled networks, and health centers)
  • Leads the design and development of federated data model, including common data elements, data dictionary, governance, etc.
  • Coordinate the design, development, and implementation of analytics solutions to support national, regional, and local level customers
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders, improve care processes by understanding the current processes and workflows
  • Identify the clinicians’ needs and provide informatics tools to enable more reliable and effective processes
  • Be an effective communicator who can actively advocate and educate diverse audiences on informatics requirements
  • Advise senior management on opportunities and gaps in current health data analytics and related technological capabilities and recommend plans for growth through the adoption of new methodologies and technologies.
  • Ability to mentor and manage associates in data manipulation methodologies

Role Essentials:

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in data and technology focused leadership roles
  • Masters’ degree with a strong quantitative/analytical emphasis
  • Strategic thinking, planning, project management capabilities; organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong database software proficiency with experience using SAS, SQL and other relational database tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven record of translating business problems into analytical processes
  • A confident change-agent; strong advocacy and presentation skills

Role Desirables:

  • Clinician
  • Prior experience in health solutions industry, particularly in provider performance analysis, medical claims, or episodes of care
  • Prior experience with primary care associations, health center-controlled networks, or health centers
  • Experience using BI Tools such as Tableau to design and create reporting dashboards and portals
  • Working knowledge in machine learning/deeper learning and predictive analytics
